My first interview...feedback please!!!

I graduated from my BSN program in December 09. I didn't apply for any jobs until I found out I passed my boards last Saturday, March 13. I submitted my first and only application online Sunday, March 14. I got a call on Monday, March 15 to set up an interview for Wednesday, March 17. That brings us to today, Thursday, March 18. I AM FREAKING OUT! I needed a job like last year. I was totally excited about my interview, I think I interviewed pretty well. I was expecting a one on one interview with the Clinical Manager but it turned out to be a team interview. A few staff members shot questions at me, I felt they liked me...but then again you never know. I toured the unit with one of the nurses and asked the NM for her card and sent her a nice thank you e-mail when I got home from the interview. At the end of the interview the NM told me that HR will contact me next week. What does that mean??? Does it usually take that long for yea or nay? She said there are 9 positions open on the floor, both PCA and RN positions. Can I do anything else in the mean time to increase my chances or is my only option to hurry up and wait?

I haven't posted in a while but I will give a little background info: I have a criminal record, 2 misdemeanors. Failure to stop at the scene of a personal injury accident and attempted unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. I wrote an explanation to the BON and they didn't require any further documents. They issued my license, no questions, no problems. I listed these convictions on my application, but they never brought it up in the interview!?!? I wanted to explain, but it was like they didnt even care. I guess this could be either a good or bad sign, right? I mean they wouldn't have called me if I wasn't qualified, I'm guessing. Should I have addressed the elephant in the room or was it a good thing I didn't say anything. This is extremely important to me...and as you can tell I am totally losing it!

Any words of advice or attempts to bring me back to reality will be greatly appreciated.

Oh and I want to add that she told me that "orientation isn't until April because they don't have an orientation in March." I took this as a good sign. I just don't know what to think...

Hmm... I think all you can do is "hurry up and wait." Tough, but not easy to say what they're thinking. No experience with criminal histories so I can't help you there, but I wish you the best. I would wait until Tuesday mid-day, if you don't hear anything, you could call. I wouldn't do anything until then though.

Congrats on passing your boards BTW!!

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Don't waste your time pinning hopes that this first interview will result in success. Get out there and continue to submit resumes and applications.
