Mt. Hood CC Interview 2008

I just got a letter today notifying me that I have been selected for a group interview at MHCC. I have never done one of these and would like some advice on what to expect.

Any MHCC students care to share?

How did you prepare for the interview?

Also, what type of questions did they ask you? thanks for any future help.

Has anyone called Mt. Hood to see if they will tell you what your calculated points were?

You can email & ask admissions. I was invited for an interview because someone declined. I had 49.4 points by MHCC's calculation. I declined the interview since I will be attending another school in June.

LNG - what email address did you send it to? I just received a reply saying that they do not give out point information.

Just had my MHCC interview today!!!

There were supposed to be 10 in our group but only 6 showed up....HEY fine with me, better odds, right?:nuke:

Overall, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It felt VERY long and we even got done about a half hour earlier than what they said (probably because 4 people didn't show).

What other posters have mentioned about the interview process is more or less correct. The computer portion is first, they give you 20 mins to basically attach a file to an email and send it to the college. easy stuff.

Then, they give you 5 questions to answer in writing in 1 hour. Then, they come back in and everyone will answer 2 questions orally in front of the group and the faculty. Everyone answers question #1 and you draw a number out of a hat for the second question that you will answer.

That's it. It was incredibly nerve racking, but the faculty were very nice and overall, I think I did an OK job. I don't think the interview hurt my chances and possibly helped me, but overall I feel like I did just OK.

I won't say what the actual questions were because I don't think that would be fair.

Good luck to all!:nurse:

Whew! I bet you're relieved that it's over! My interview is next Tuesday. I'm a little nervous about the speaking in front of a group part, but I think I'll do okay...I'm usually pretty confident.

Thanks for the info, and good luck!
