MSN thesis topics

I am on my second year of a three year MSN nurse educator program and we are to start coming up with potential thesis topics. I have a passion for mental health as well as education and I am trying to find a topic that I can incorporate both into. I also hope to have this topic be something I can expand on with a dissertation at some time. One topic I was thinking about is school based suicide prevention programs and if they reduce the rate of self reported suicidal ideation in students of a rural high school. I would like to have my topic focus more on nursing education though as that is my area of specialty. Does anyone have any ideas? I appreciate any help you may have.

If you are wanting something that will dovetail into a doctoral dissertation someday, would an in-depth lit review work?

Given the mental health crisis in our country you have a good, broad subject to investigate. I did a very in-depth research paper during my MSN on programs that divert individuals taken to jail for nonviolent crimes into mental health treatment in the community rather than into jail or prison.
