MSMU ABSN Fall 2021

Published

Hi applicants, I didn't see a topic yet for Mount Saint Mary's Fall 2021 ABSN program, so I made one!

Hi ? ,

I'm planning to apply for the fall 2021 term. Although I am still completing physiology and Microbiology (Spring 2021). Does anyone know if this will affect my chances of being admitted?

Hi! Hmm, I'm not sure. You can email their ABSN coordinator at [email protected]. Hopefully, she'll get back to you soon ?

I applied for ABSN Fall 2021!

I applied before for Fall 2019 and didn't get in. I had two courses (Microbiology and Physiology) that I was taking for the Spring term. I received rejection letter via mail end of April. Letter said there were high number of applicants and they were giving priority consideration to those who finished their science pre-requisites. While having pre-requisites can affect your chances of admission, the main thing that matters is the application pool for the particular term you are applying to b/c I read in past forums of people still being accepted with in progress courses. ?

I don't have all A's and no healthcare experience so I'm nervous whether I can be accepted this time around!

Let's keep each other posted here!

Hi! I am also applying! I am still working on revising my essay and turning it in soon!! How did you guys do in your undergrad? was your GPA really high?

SOrry im just really anxious because I do want to go into this school but also so scared of the workload in 12 months!

Also I heard that they were planning to not have anymore Summer semesters (its not confirmed) but they said its more than likely they are trying to have only one application process in one year ? I got this from the info session!

My undergrad was back in 2015 and I have 3.2 GPA LOL not too great. I was a counseling major so pretty far from science/healthcare. Most of my pre-requisites are from Pasadena City College. I have mostly B's for science pre-requisites and couple As. I haven't taken Statistics but thankfully that's not a requirement for MSMU.

As far as the Summer semesters go, that's for future (next year) probably right? Did you hear from the information session whether the classes this fall will be online and/or mixture (since covid-19)? I know they are allowing some exceptions for clinicals.

For fall term, if we start in August, do you know when the term ends?

Good luck on your essay! ?

Yes its for future! Just saying we would have to wait another whole year if we do not end up getting accepted! BUT im hoping for the best for all of us!!

I heard that the classes are online right now! but not the clinicals of course. so that is scary cuz I'd hate to learn such complicated stuff online on our own.

Oh wow, I am so glad I applied then. I really do hope we get in this year. Hopefully by fall, the classroom regulations may be modified (depending on county health guidelines). Is this your first time applying? Do you have any healthcare experience?

Hi ?

I still have two classes that I am taking this Spring, Physiology and Microbiology. I'm going to take my chances and still apply??. I don't have any healthcare experience either. Are you applying to other schools?

I have the same GPA as you, and I have no healthcare experience.

Yea it doesnt hurt to apply! Im not applying to any other schools. Are you applying elsewhere?

Other private ABSN programs I have found are longer than 12 months and/or require more pre-reqs classes that I havent done. Im working full time at the moment so I don't want to take any more classes ?

Hey all,

Good luck to everyone applying! Just some stats: My undergrad was back in 2011 and I had a 3.22 at graduation as an International Business & Marketing major. I have nearly a 4.0 in my pre-reqs (I got a B+ in my Intro to Psych class back in 2008). 160 hours of hands-on patient hospital volunteering through COPE at UCLA Health. I don't think MSMU cares about the TEAS but I got a 96.7%. I have an interview at CSULA for their ABSN program next week (my #1 school), but if I don't get accepted I'm hoping to get into MSMU. That $80k sticker price for the private program scares me though. How's everyone feeling about the tuition cost?
