Hi guys and gals! My name is Amy, and I'm am living in Minnesota right now. I'm starting an ADN program in fall 2014, and will graduate in May 2016. My dad owns a very successful masonry company in Washington state (my hometown) and is ready to retire within the next year or 2. He wants my husband to take over the business at that time. This is really exciting for us!
Anyways, I know how impossible it is to relocate while in the middle of a nursing program, so I plan to finish this one in Minnesota and move to Washington right after graduation.
My question is, what state should I take the NCLEX? And what extras (if any) do I need to know before transferring states? Is anyone familiar with this process?
Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

You can take the NCLEX in any state regardless of where you go to college if your college meets that state's BoN requirements.
Contact the WA BoN and ask them whether they approve your college (they very likely will) and how much lead time they recommend for registering for NCLEX to take it there, what they want for fees and transcripts, etc.
If you're moving right after graduation there's no advantage to taking NCLEX in MN and then getting a WA license by reciprocity/endorsement, just another fee.
Thank you so much for your reply! I will check with the WA BoN.
