I know, I know, everyone is always asking this! But I have been searching the forums and reading the posts and still have unanswered questions!
Can you only become licensed if you have a three/four year degree/diploma? I am completing my two year two months accellerated diploma in September, I already have a previous degree, will this be acceptable? Or is it really just about how many hours you have in theory and in practice that is what counts?
People have mentioned that there are 'bridge programs' available in the UK or US for making up hours, has anyone been on one of these? What are the names of them and how do you find out about them? I did look up the O Grady Peyton one, but I don't fancy being tied in a contract with them...
Thanks for your help!

Hi
There are really no bridge programs in the UK, can be done in the US, you need to contact recognised school of nursing and enquire about being a guest student just for the hours both theory and practical.
Each BON has their own requirements but you are looking at a requirement of 3 years or more for training but really the best way to say whether you meet requirments is to have your transcripts evaluated once they are complete. Most go through CGFNS and CES report

Licensure is handled by the BON of each state. But immigration is handled by the US Federal government and they are unrelated.
If you can take the required hours as an elective, that would be your best bet. To make sure that you get the hours in for peds, maternal care, and mental health. That woudl the number one way of getting things done when you are in school.
