Moving from NY to TX

Hello,

I'm planning on moving to Frisco, Tx area.. looking around the Dallas, TX area for RN jobs.. I will have one year experience hopefully before we move.. debating on getting my BSN while I'm here then look for jobs then move.. or getting it down there. Wondering how the area is for nurses.. pay, job availability, community etc.

Hi there. I'm sure some folks will be jumping in here, providing detailed information that will be very helpful but I just wanted to point out that you may want to focus on employment opportunities closer to the Frisco area because it is a horrendous commute to other areas. Frisco is undergoing an enormous growth spurt - Toyota is moving in, the Cowboys have relocated there, etc.... traffic between there and Dallas is unbelievable & it will be for some time to come.

Would you consider Frisco a good area for families with young children? Is there a big pay difference between Frisco RN jobs and Dallas? Do you have another area in mind?

What area of nursing are you in? ICU/medsurg? Frisco is a great place to raise a family. We moved from new York 5 years ago and settled in McKinney. I work in Dallas at Medical City. I work day shift, so traffic is not bad at 6 in the morning. Pay range should be around 30 dollars. PM for more information.
