Moving to L.A.

I am an RN moving to the L.A. area. I will be working nights (7p-7a) at Norris Cancer Center. Any advice on where to live? Would I be able to live at the beach since I'll have a reverse commute? Also, I have 2 dogs (a lab and a Basset) that will be coming with me.

1. Will you be sharing rent? If not, atleast 50% of your salary is going to rent, atleast for a decent place.

2.Norris Cancer is FARRRRRRRR from the beach. Commute is never on your side in LA.

I visit LA often but not from the area so I can't really say where are good housing locations. Most people stay toward west LA where its safer and more chill.

Try mid wilshire or downtown la. Housing will run you at least $1700 for a nice one bedroom. There are nice apartment building in those areas but some of them are right in the middle of not so nice neighborhoods. The beach is way too far. West la is nice but with traffic it will probably take a long time to get to work.
