Moving to Fort Worth

Published

I am planning on moving to Fort Worth after nursing shcool from the Boston area. I have a year left. What are the going rates for new grad nurses? I know that it will probably change but I am just curious about what to expect, since I have my eye on a particular floorplan.

Are there any nurses who live in the Summer Creek Ranch community (Crowley ISD) and who commute to any of the area hospital in Fort Worth, if so what is you commute like.

Looking forward to hearing from you

Hi, there!

I live in a home in Poynter Crossing, which is a newer development located less than half a mile from the Summer Creek Ranch development. There are two major hospitals located only 6 miles from your future home: Baylor All Saints and Harris Methodist (southwest campus). My commute to this general area of hospitals only takes about 10 to 15 minutes.

The pay rates for new RNs are probably lower than what is being offered in the Boston area. Pay rates range from $19 to $22 hourly. I believe that Medical City of Arlington starts new grads at $22.85 hourly. If you work night shift, some places will pay a $5 to $6 night shift differential per hour. I am an LVN that works in a nursing home, and my workplace starts RNs off at $23 hourly. Good luck!
