Montefiore School of nursing!!!

Why does Montefiore Hospital own a school and not willing to hire its own students? One would want to believe that they should give their graduates priority and train them in the manner they think is fit for the institution. NYU gives top priority to its students, NYPH gives priority to its students and St.John's riverside gives priority to Cochran. As of this moment only 1 student was hired. They are not even giving us interviews to give us the chance at landing the job. Anyway graduates from Montefiore School of Nursing, please don't bank on Monte!! That said I do have 3 interviews next week. There are jobs out there so I just keep applying. All 3 interviews are in area hospitals...just not any at Monte. As a former graduate, I think it's kind of pathetic to own a school and not CONSIDER your graduates. Makes no sense. Anyway to those who just graduated at Montefiore School of Nursing Congrats and Goodluck with the boards. Saunders and NCSBN worked for me!! I am confident I will be hired...just not at Monte am sure.

    I hope you've had some success by now.When did you graduate for MSON? Are you still looking? I'm a student currently and I'm curious how long it may take to find employment once I graduate.

    Good day. I got accepted into MSON for the fall 2015 semester however, I may decline the seat. I have also been accepted into a BSN program elsewhere. It is funny that I came across this post because when I listed the pros and cons of both schools, being able to land a job at Monte after graduating was the number one pro of choosing that school. Thank you for your input, it is really appreciated.

    I graduated Dec. 2014...hopefully will land something in an area hospital but its all about who you know.
