Missing narcotics

Hi I have a problem. At my work there are missing narcotics and I'm the one who signed for the pills from pharmacy delivered to replace the ones that were pulled from the stat or back up meds the night before. This is a problem due toi do not remember even seeing the medication and this was over a month ago. They told me I won't be fired but I'm very nervous due to the fact they can't drug test me to prove my innocence and I do not if a blood test will stand. What do I do? Could I loose my license over this horrible mistake?

Moved to Nurse Colleague Forum, as more appropriate for this sort of inquiry.

Did you look at the sign in sheet? Is it your signature or handwriting?

I would just say to them while you don't recall signing in that specific narc card/ bottle that you always follow your protocol and sign them in.

It is my hand writing but I never looked that night like I normally do due to I was busy. I did tell them I honestly have no idea but I'm hoping due to the fact I offered every type of drug test in the book blood, hair follicle everything a d asked them to pull cameras to see if it was ever in my hand and they said they would pull cameras. Hopefully this will go in my favor.
