I am not above emptying trash and linens- but I feel my time would be better spent at the bedside. We generate trash at night, but have no housekeeper to empty it. Just the basic inequality of nights vs. days in terms of cafeteria, mandatory meetings and education, availability of services and such.

Love teaching, reassuring, controlling pain, caring for wounds, working as a team, bonding with fellow nurses and soothing anxious family members.

Hate absurd documentation requirements, ineffective systems, career road blocks, cleaning up poop (no worries folks. I do it with flair), anxious patients/families that can not/will not be soothed, getting pulled into family drama and unrealistic expectations regard safety, rounding and time off.
