I am looking to go into the military (either Air Force or Navy) when I am finished with my RN degree. I unfortunately have a few years until that is completed. I was wondering if there are any military programs out there that will allow me to go to school full time and then receive my commission? I do know the Navy has the Navy nurse candidate program. I have tried to contact some recruiters but without much luck. I do have six years prior military experience as a surgical tech in the Navy so I do understand how slow things get done. Just wondering if anyone has any information that could help me. Thank you.

check out the military forum within allnurses....
the army has a program very similar to the navy nurse cadet program...
5k bonus up front, 5k later plus 1k a month.. you can start your junior year and have up to 24 months..
Have you gone to the army, navy,af webpages? check out the forum here - look at those web pages and make contact with the respective health care recruiters for the branches you are interested in.
See you in the mil forum and good luck!

Check out ROTC. They will pay for your schooling and you will have to do PT and classes with them while you are going fulltime. In the summer you will go through basic training and...something else that officers have to do...not sure what it is. Anyway, after you get your BSN (you have to have a 4 yr degree, which you probably already know) you will get your commission as an officer. The quickest thing to do is probably to talk to a recruiter. They would have all the details for you. HTH
