Midline Catheters

i am just trying to gather some information on the practice of using midline catheters in neonates. we typically use only piccs, but on occasion when one won't thread all the way or gets pulled back too far, we will use it as a midline or deep peripheral. by our protocol, in doing this we then are limited on the dextrose content and/or calcium we can infuse through the line. what are some of the other practices out there concerning midlines and what can infuse through them? :uhoh3:

i don't insert picc's, but our protocol is that we call it a peripheral picc if it isn't deep, and we can only infuse up to 12.5% dextrose. i'm not sure about the ca concentration.
