Curious to see the post on this thread, taking Micro now. Not sure how your class is set up. The book is mostly a tool in our class. Information is from slides, our notes, and instructors notes. Not sure how test are going to be, but seems mostly memorization is key.

I use quizlet a lot and write questions that would show up on a test. Then use flashcards on quizlet to memorize terms.

Feel Micro will be similar to AP1 outside of labs.

I am in Micro now, and have been studying the same way I have for every class. Take notes in class on the slides, upload to flashcard site (StudyBlue) and read through the chapter in case something was missed (learned that from AP2 where the professor would leave a bunch of things out of her slides that would be on the exams)

I generally read the chapter before class. Took notes during class. Reviewed notes/texts for any concepts I wasn't clear on after class, and used the questions embedded in the book and at the end of chapters for review. I found taking really good notes (particularly on lab procedures) during class to be key to succeeding as many key details for labs didn't appear in the text book.
