MGH Direct Entry 2022

Published

Hey everyone! I saw that no one started a thread for MGH's direct entry program so I figured I would. I applied for the early deadline and was wondering if anyone else did as well. I'd love to connect with you all on here :).

Hello ?I also applied for the earlier deadline! Any idea when we'll hear back?

I’m hoping by mid January, but it from old threads I saw by February 1st! I’m so anxious about it. I applied to the FNP specialty, hby? Good luck!

I also applied for the early deadline! I emailed them a couple weeks ago, and they said they'll be sending decisions by late January/early February!

Nice, Thanks for the update! Good Luck! What specialty did you apply to?

I applied for Adult-Gerontology Primary Care! Good luck to you too!

Hi everyone! I’ve also applied here, and I was wondering if you guys might be able to tell me if you’ve heard any specific pros for this program? I’m having a hard time finding a lot of info about what makes this one of the better programs

Hey! Most of the info I received  was from the site, deep digging online and attending the info sessions before applying. I did have a chance to talk to a student who did the ABSN program and she loved it. She said she felt very prepared as a nurse and heard good things from students that finished the NP Program. She mentioned that the staff and community were very supportive, and her clinicals were at MGH and she really enjoyed them. So I guess I’d try to get in touch with admissions or find a former student that can give you an idea of what the school is like.

Specializes in Registered Nurse.

Do they require NP direct entry students to work as RNs in order to complete their study? I'm just curious as I know most NP programs require some bedside experience and I'm just curious as to how the direct entry programs work.

Some programs require you to take a break after the accelerated BSN portion of the program to work full time as a RN for a year or two before beginning the masters portion. Others let you work on your masters part time right away while you work part time as a RN!

also applied by the early deadline and anxious to hear back!
