Methadone research?

Does anyone know of any research out there regarding methadone dosing for pregnant women or methadone withdrawal? We are having a rash of methadone kids admitted and the mothers have been on very high doses of methadone (80-100 mg). This is common for the methadone clinic that serves our patient population.

Any information would be very helpful.

Thanks!

AWHONN.org is a very helpful website...they recently had a great journal article about Methadone & Suboxone use in pregnant women.

I work in a well-baby nursery (in theory, anyway), and we withdraw a LOT of methadone kids.

Wow, really? Our WBN is basically unable to handle anything other than a perfectly well baby. The only thing they do is single phototherapy. Good for you, Elvish! :bowingpur

Some days it is NOT so good for me, lol.

We do double lights, IV abx, methadone kids, and probably some other things that are not coming to mind at 0220! :D

Ha!

Our unit would be half empty if WBN would keep all our phototx, r/o sepsis ABX and "cold-->hypoglycemics."
