Hey Helen, I just tried to look you up on facebook, but I am having trouble. See if you can find me, I should be under Yianna Manolakis....Not too many of us..lol. I have been debating about the private loans out there, wells-fargo has a good interest rate but I think that it is variable. I will probably go with Suntrust, as I have been with them since I was old enough to have any money and I had my car loan with them (they also have a fixed-interest rate). I will keep looking and keep you posted on what I find! It looks like things will get better next year with more scholarships, externships, and forgivable loans.:)Also I will be at the August 10th orientation!

Hi hyunjoo, Have you had any good luck with the financial aid process? Are you planning on taking out private loans? I have researched private loans but most of them are with variable interest. Just wondering what my collegues are doing, since classes are fast approaching. Yianna

Hi CSWEETTOOTH, I can't wait to start in the fall! Can you give us any advice for us newbies? I am so excited, but nervous at the same time... Also could you give me some advice on the financial aid stuff, do they help you find money or should I start hunting for it now?

Thank you! You are right that everything works out for a reason! Atleast you won't have to drive 2 hours a day!! I don't mind because I don't have any other obligations...She will be going to the Gainesville/lanier tech campus.

Hi Nrice28, Congrats on NGCSU,I am so happy for you! I have a friend that will be starting with you. It is a great school so I've heard. I applied to NGSCU last year and did not get in. But anyways I did get into Mercer and the financial part is going to kill me. Just be thankful that NGSCU is affordable! I know the BSN is important to you, but it really does not matter except for time. Atleast nowdays you can do your BSN online!! Good luck in the program! The next two years are going to be very challenging!
  6. Wow, congrats!!! I just found out yesterday too! I started to cry because I was so happy!!! Haha. I don't blame you for wanting to live closer, it will definetly make your life a lot easier. In case anybody is still waiting... I talked to Ms. Taylor on thursday and she said that the "bulk" of decline letters has been sent out. Hopefully this will ease your nerves for the time being. I thought it was kind of funny that she didn't tell me when she knew the letter was in the mail, but that's just how it is!! By the way I will look the group up, I can't wait to meet everybody!
  7. Oh okay. It sounds like you and I think alike:) I will most likely be commuting, I live in the gainesville/ cumming area. Will you be commuting? If you don't mind me asking, what is your cumulative, transfer, and science gpa?
  8. I submitted my application around March 20th. How about you? I applied to Kennesaw fall 2010, but did not get in. Mercer is the only school I have applied to for the fall, but I applied to GPC and Kennesaw for January. I am just hoping and praying for Mercer... I will definetly keep you posted. Goodluck, I hope we both get in!
  9. Fawn, Have you heard anything yet about your acceptance? This waiting is driving me crazy, I'm seriously living at the mailbox!!
  10. I was wondering if somebody from last year can tell me if you received your financial planning paperwork before your acceptance to GBCN? I received a letter yesterday stating that I need to turn in verification worksheets, w2's, etc... I thought you had to be accepted before starting the financial aid process? Any help would be great! Thanks.

Hi Fawn, I have applied for GBCN fall 2010. I still have not heard anything back from them and it has been a month and a 1/2. When did you apply? If you look at the blog from last year, some people did not find out until June about their acceptance. They haven't sent me anything regarding financial aid, but I had already listed them on my fafsa. Goodluck, I hope we hear something soon.
