  1. Really....so how did you narrow down the answers if the decision tree and ABC's doesn't work.
  2. linsmirn, I am sooo happy for you. I am still waiting on Florida to approve my reapplication. I have been going over Kaplan's content videos and I am going to try to do the q trainers and q bank twice. The meds are giving me the most difficult time to remember even though I have broken them down into classes. There is just so many and I got a lot of meds the first time around so I am trying to focus on that this time. I will let keep u updated. Hoping the application gets approved soon so I can schedule my date.
  3. Thank you so much for your help. I am also using the same resources. The hardest part is trying to remember so much information. I am sure your going to do well.
  4. Oh wow...that is great. Thank you so much. How can I check the status on my application online? Is it the same login information as when we initially applied? How have you been studying this time around? The first time I knew I wasn't ready but decided to go for it anyway. This time I am using Kaplan and it has definitely helped me.
  5. Hello linsmirn, Thank you so much for responding back. I will definitely give them some time since I just sent it in. Did you receive your att before your 45 day was up? If so, how were you able to schedule a date before it was up?
  6. Hey ounsrey, I also live in Florida and will be taking my nclex for the 2nd time. How long did it take for the board to let Pearson know you were eligible? Did you get your att before the 45 days? I called the Board of Nursing but I keep getting different answers. Thanks!!!
  7. Jacque was definitely in the interview. As far as the others, I am not sure. They were various nurse managers from different floors. They were all really nice. Once your are selected for an interview just smile and show them that you have a great personality. Also ask many questions. They love to hear that you are interested in professional development and different committees in the hospital that you can be apart of.
  8. I love your attitude. I took mine last week Friday and failed as well and was a complete wreck for the entire weekend. I also had a job lined up that I was supposed to start but thank God they are holding my position for me. I sat thru the entire test as well so I know that means I was very close. All of my classmates who took Kaplan passed so I decided to take it and I wished I would have done it sooner. I can see how it is definitely a big help.
  9. I actually had my peer interview for the ER two weeks ago. I am a new grad and they told me they were interviewing 7 new grads but only hiring six so of course I was very nervous. But it went great and I got hired. First, I would say definitely wear a suit. I wore a black pants suit with the jacket. They asked me a ton of questions about, "Why do I want to work in the ER, name my best clinical experience during nursing school and why, if I saw another coworker reading a patient's chart they were not assigned to what would I do?" They also looked at my previous job experiences (i was a middle school teacher before) and asked me scenarios related to that as well. Just go in, smile and have a bubbly personality and it will go well. You will do great. Let us know how it goes!!
  10. Congrats to you!! I take my nclex in 3 weeks and I am sooo nervous. Did you see a little bit of everything on the test? I have been studying everyday for 3 weeks and I still feel like I am not sure.
  11. Hello, I just graduated from BC South Campus and I received the Memorial Scholarship. At first, I was not even going to apply but I am so happy that I did. Only three of us in my class received it. I have heard how difficult it is to find a job after graduation and knowing that I won't have that issue is a relief. I was interviewed by about 8 nurse managers in a panel type forum. They ask a lot of "What would you do" nursing scenario questions. The great thing about the scholarship is that they pay the rest of your tuition for school and Jackie, the scholarship coordinator, is amazing. I received at least 4 NCLEX study books from her as well which are valuable resources for class. They don't come and talk to you about it until you get to GIGU and then you are interviewed during Psych rotations. So I would focus on getting thru process 1 and 2 because those are the deal breaker classes. Our class started out with 88 students and we graduated with 13 "original" of us that started together. Good luck and I am here to help in anyway I can.
  12. Hi, Yes you will definitely understand the math better after you take the 4 week math class. However, it is very fast paced so if you don't understand a concept ask for help immediately. I know a lot of people who fail out because of math. Everytime you start a new clinical which is every 8 weeks, you have to take a math test and score no less than a 90%. If you get below that the first time, you get a second opportunity and if you fail the second time then you have to retrack. So definitely know your math because it doesn't end until the program is over!!!
  13. Hi, I just completed Process and like bumblebee said..READ EVERYTHING!! I read everything and highlighted the most important parts. Honestly the objectives did not help me at all. I also bought the Fundamentals of Success which helped some. The test questions at the end of the chapter honestly don't do the exams justice. Those questions are easy compared to what is on the exam. The Saunders Comprehensive Book helped more in process 2 but the book is great. I think Process is difficult because there is a lot of information and the test questions are very different from any other type of test you have probably ever taken. I bombed the first exam but it was a wake up call to me and helped me to understand how to study better. Pray, read, and don't fall behind on your reading because then its very difficult to catch up. Especially since you have pharmacology as well. Good luck!!!
  14. hey, does anyone know when exactly we will be using the med-surg book...I do not want to purchase it right away if I don't have to.
  15. On my booklist it says you need the textbook and the e-book for both perry and potter books. What would be the purpose of having both?? Wouldn't the textbook be enough??
