I'll be watching on tele, have no clue about the horses, but love to watch the fashion on the field. Have a few friends coming over and lots of food. Should be a great afternoon. jax

Makybe Diva wins Melbourne Cup

The David Hall trained Makybe Diva has taken out the 143rd Melbourne Cup over 3,200 metres at Flemington.

Makybe Diva, ridden by jockey Glen Boss, won the $4.6 million race from She's Archie and Jardine's Lookout in third.

The race that stops the nation produced another twist this morning when Caulfield Cup winner Mummify was scratched from the race.

Flemington is bursting at the seams with the fine weather helping to attract a massive crowd.
