I've just started in surgical icu most days I don't like it I thought this is what I wanted I feel so disappointed . I feel not so smart as well. I was in a emergency situation drawing up fentanyl it was a 250mg/5 ml vial PA said give 50 mg it took me forever to figure out it 1 ml. Then drawing up sux sedative. I do not know how to figure out how many ml to give when drawing out of vial fast enough. Any advice for me how to do this quickly or just try memorize usually diff every time. Thanks struggling

There are many websites and books to practice medication calculations. If you are not good at mental mathematics, then it's just a matter of repetition and practice to be able to work it out on the run. You can also download med calculators to your phone.
