I'm taking the NCLEX this Thurs. and have been studying as much as I can. My problem is I feel there's so much info it's hard to focus. I'm having a really hard time with meds because as I go through the questions I'm coming across meds I've never even heard of. I'm doing Saunders pharm. quiz and there's something like 702 questions. How can I possibly remember all these meds and their little quirks??? When to give them, how much to give etc.!! It's all getting confusing and I feel like I'm wasting time on meds when I can be using that time for something more productive.
My friend just took and passed the NCLEX on Wed, and she and I were pretty comparable in school. She had only 75 questions, so that gives me hope that I'll pass as well, it's just starting to feel like the more I study, the less I seem to know, YKWIM?
Well thanks for listening, I think I"m just so stressed about this I needed to vent.

Good luck on the NCLEX!
I barely had 1 or 2 meds on my NCLEX, and the questions were obvious. I wouldn't worry!
If you don't know the med, read the question, and pick the safest answer (pt safety). I think one of my meds was a psych med that I had to worry about his immune system. I can't even remember it now.
You will do fine!
Thank you!! I was worrying that I"m spending too much time on meds, they were just never a strongpoint for me during school, so I was worried about them. I think I'll go back to reviewing the systems and getting the lab values down in my mind. I know when I get nervous during a test my mind goes blank, so I really need to nail down the lab values and signs and symptoms of different disorders.
Thanks again!!

my worry about nclex are meds as well. the first time i really am so overwhelmed with all the meds questions that bombarded me and those were meds that i havent really know or heard of! well, i failed. this last time, i studied classifications. i didnt really pay particular attention on brand names. They change and theres millions of them! i analized the generic and with such luck, with 8 questions 2 of which are computations, i m proud to say i am 90-100% correct on all meds. and I passed nclex -rn!
