MDC Spring 2023

My advisor says it was extended. I wonder why that is? So odd. So they’re already accepting students WHILE not everyone has submitted their applications. So weird to me. And that’s odd. I know they changed a couple of courses on the curriculum back in may. They never sent an email or anything about that. I had to find out myself. You can see what they are on the nursing website. I had to have my advisor go in and manually submit mine for me!

im hoping it means theyre accepting lots of people then since theyre accepting before we finish applying and extended. from what I've read on this forum and heard from others, I have similar scores to those accepted so I hope ill make it in too. good luck to you! I might go in person next week too.

I got my bachelors at FSU in April and completed all the nursing prereqs. I have a 3.1 GPA and 78 on the TEAS....im so nervous. you think I have a chance for this upcoming semester?

I know, I had no idea since its not written anywhere! I called to find out when the next cycle opens since I had missed the September first, and she mentioned it was extended.

im scared because I literally called the office today and spoke to the office clerk and was giving my scores and wondering if I have a chance and she responded "to be honest I don't really think you stand a chance!" so im so let down...but we'll see if I can get in

They send it on the MDC email, please check it daily because I almost missed the deadline to accept and deposit to hold my seat. They only give you a week to respond to the email.

Does anyone know why there is not a nursing notification/important update email? I find it so strange there isn’t one. At my other schools in Minnesota, every-time there was the slightest update, change, or important news, an email went out to every student informing them. It concerns me that MDC lacks in the communication department and I think it really needs to be addressed. I’ve tried to get a meeting set up with the Dean but it is very hard. Multiple times there have been important updates or changes and no one told me via email. I was told I need to “check the website regularly”. That’s just unrealistic for a student and even if I did, it wouldn’t help because they still haven’t put anything on there about the extension for applying.

When will we know if we got accepted? I was told no more than 8 weeks after September 1. Now that the deadline has changed (oct. 14) I feel like many of us won’t know until later in November. 

So I spoke to an advisor yesterday and she said they’re going to send the answer after the deadline. So I’m assuming we’ll know within October. Possibly November though. I’m just confused because some people already found out even tho the deadline was extended. I’m worried about how many seats are left. 

Yeah it doesn’t make any sense. How can they be accepting people while the pool is still going. They’ve got no clue what’s going on. It’s a mess.
