MCC-August Start

I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread for those of us starting the program in August!

Hi Orna. I still need to get my titers and physical and drug test. I see a lot of info on these threads to help with that. I hope my insurance will pick up some of the cost.

Did you order scrubs yet? I see that we have reading and homework assignments to get ready for the seminar. I am planning on going to the bookstore in about a week and buy the books. Have you ordered any books online? I'm thinking that I should price around. Do you know what size scissors that we are going to need to buy?

I heard that PHED -2010 is the easiest class to take. Has anyone here taken it or do you reccommend a different one? Thanks!!:nurse:

I made my appointmet with my Dr. to do everything. I called my insurance co. and they said they would cover all of it. I thought we would get the forms we needed to turn in with our start date packet.

I did order my scrubs already, I called after the orientation. I always think I should shop around for books but I never do! I was just planning on getting it at the bookstore. I will probably wait until my sp/su class is over and then get the book and start on the work for the seminar.

I don't know about that class. Is it for the phys ed credit?

Sorry to butt in to the August starters just wanted to say that I will being pay attention to this thread often, considering I start in October. :)

Sorry to butt in to the August starters, but I was curious if you had received anything extra with your packet? Perhaps reading/homework assignments? I will pay attention to this threat often, considering I start in October. :)

We did get a syllabus for HHSC 1040 but nothing else for the NURS classes. I thought at orientation they said we would get called to pick-up our info for the NURS classes. If we do, I'll post it.

p.s

Feel free to butt in at anytime!:)

Ok! You guys got the same stuff I did then. I thought maybe you guys would have gotten paperwork for the doctors to fill out as well, considering you have to have your stuff done before us. Thank you! :)

Hello Guys! I'm an August start too.....still haven't gotten my titers either. Making a doctor appt next week. I was wondering about that form also. I thought it was supposed to come in the mail with our letters.

I was sure they said that. I remember her saying that we needed to take the form with us to the physical. I planned on calling about it today. I'll let you know what I find out.

I just talked to the nursing office and they said they mail the forms after the start date packets and we should get them in the next 1-2 weeks.

Thanks Orna!

J/W... Are there any other guys starting in august?

I know a guy named Joe starting in August. He's really nice. Not sure if he's on allnurses though:D

I know there is another guy on here that is an August start. I remember seeing his post but can remember his screen name.
