May 2016 CEP applicants

I applied in May as well and I cant wait to hear my fate. I am just writing to let you know that an NAU advisor sent me a message yesterday saying we should hear something in about 2 more weeks. I am assuming after the 4th of July sometime.

Thanks for that update, Brooklynn0204! I haven't heard anything from either school! At least now I know somewhat of a time frame of when to expect news. :)

Thank you for starting this page and thanks for the updates:) which community college did both of you apply for? Just curious because on the Maricopa Nursing Facebook page, some applicants have already been accepted! My first choice is Pvcc and Nau :)

I applied for the Nau program at gcc. Thats scary to hear, I hope we hear sooner rather than later. Have you heard anything from the school yet?

I have not heard anything yet either and I'm getting anxious/nervous. From what I've heard, the schools that have announced who has been accepted so far have been gateway and estrella mountain. I heard that each school notifies us at different times so hopefully we hear something very soon:)

I applied back in February of this year for CEP with OU/SCC and I am happy to announce that I received an email yesterday indicating that I've been accepted into the program!!!

I start the university part in the fall 2016 and the scc block 1 starts in spring 2017.

I also recieved my acceptance e mail last Thursday, and I applied to Estrella and nau! Nau starts this fall and Estrella in spring! Good luck!

Hi, I'm peaking in here ladies so happy to see this thread. I am finishing my last pre-req then applying to MCC/ASU CEP. Anything you can share with me that would help? I switched from Dental Hygiene so I want to be sure I don't have any surprises this time. I haven't 100% decided on the university actually. I hear a lot of good things about NAU but it seems like they have more prereqs. I don't know anything other than what's on paper about Ottawa, and ASU I hear is easy to get into but is not student focused. I only need the MAT course, and the universities all require a different one I think? I hate college math, so that's my issue.

I appreciate your advice and perspective, and best of luck to all of you! Oh by the way I think MCC has 85 out of 100 spots dedicated to CEP is why they can place so many and announce early, from what I was told... Take care.

Thanks for all the updates! For the community colleges, I have CGCC as my first choice and Mesa as my second. For the universities, I have NAU and #1 and ASU as #2. I still haven't heard anything.

I also haven't heard anything and honestly I feel like I am slowly dying waiting to hear back! I can only hope cgcc starts sending out their acceptance letters soon!

I'm not 100% sure on the curriculum difference between ASU and NAU. However, I did hear from a current nursing student that with NAU's program, you have to take classes in person at their North Phoenix campus, but only that first semester. After the first semester, everything else is online. At first, the thought of driving from Gilbert to North Phx didn't sound appealing, but then my friend explained that you are learning vitals and going in person gives you hands on experience. She said that experience made her more confident during the block one nursing. NAU's pre-reqs look intense, but they can be fulfilled if you complete an AGEC-A. I would consider speaking with an advisor to see what classes you need in order to meet the requirements for the AGEC. If you only have to take one or two more classes, then it may be worth it.. It will at least open up your options. Also, when I was comparing the brochures for both schools, it looked like ASU's courses ran a semester longer. From my understanding, NAU ends at the same time as the Maricopa classes. I applied for both universities and will be happy with either one, but I think NAU may be better (and cheaper). :) Hope that helps.
