Math/TEAS test

Published

So I want to go to keiser to get my RN degree. To get in the program I have to take the TEAS test. I have never really been good at math been pushed through all of school. How shouold I go about preparing for the test. What study guides or books are good?

Thank you for all answers :)

I took the TEAS IV and the majority of the math wasn't very difficult just time consuming. The only time I almost ran out of time in the TEAS test was the math portion. I had 1 minute to spare at the end, because it is all done by hand w/ no calculator. The majority of it was adding, subtracting, fractions, and percents. I used the TEAS IV guide by ATI that I got at the school library. I also Googled TEAS test practice and took a bunch of online practice quizzes to help me prepare. A couple of weeks before I took the actual test, I bought the online practice tests from ATI, which was very helpful to get me used to the testing format and time constraints on the actual test. I went through the tests in all of these and identified where my strong points and weak points were. I, personally, have a hard time w/ percent differences. I can do percents all day long, but when I have to find the difference or change in percent I always set it up wrong. Since I knew that I worked mainly on that. I guess if I were you, I would make sure you know had to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions; balancing a checkbook type problem; percent differences; etc. Like I said it isn't all that difficult of math, just time consuming. Good luck.
