MAT 155

The LPN program I plan on getting into requires that a take a course called "MAT 155." Does anyone know what kind of math is involved in this course? I've always been really terrible at math and just barely passed it in school.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm new to this whole college thing and math scares me. :unsure:

MAT155 is Statistics. This is a course that combines math and science. Deals with probability and analysis from what I remember. Majors in Nursing,Natural Science usually have this as a gen ed requirement.

Its hard to answer your question without knowing the actual name of the course. MAT 155 could mean different math courses in different colleges. In my community college MAT 155 is calculus and the poster above said theirs was statistics.

Your college course catalog or website may also have a description of what the course is all about.

My college course catalog refers to it as "Contemporary Mathematics." : \

I have no idea what Contemporary Mathematics is....hopefully someone else around here has taken it and can chime in.

Contemporary math is kinda business related ,still deals with statistics,geometry,science,etc..I have heard thats its easier than College Algebra,but haven't taken it for myself.

I took MAT 155 (Contemporary Math) about 5 years ago, so I can't really remembered exactly what it involved..But I WILL tell you that I am horrible with all types of math & I actually passed this class with an A.I'd say don't stress too much over it!

Thank you! :) I'm sure you'll do fine!!I'll be finishing up my LPN program in May, & will be required to take College Algebra in preparation for LPN-RN..Already dreading it b/c I suck at math!Lol.

I bet you're excited to be finishing up! I haven't even begun yet. How has LPN school been for you thus far?

Math is just a headache. I'm sure you'll do great though. I mean you made an A in the other math course. c:
