Master in Nursing UBC

Hello Everyone,

I am about to go into BCIT nursing for Jan 2017 and i'm also interested in going into masters for Nursing at UBC.

Does anyone know how likely it is to get into UBC nursing if you are not a UBC undergrade nursing student?

Thanks in advance!

Depends on your GPA, letters of reference, and your letter of intent against your cohorts for the program. It varies, but attending the school's undergraduate program isn't an automatic in.

Institutions reserve x number of seats for locals, x number of seats for nationals, and x number of seats for international students.

I did my BSN at UBC and they push the Masters program pretty hard...I would say you are at an advantage if you do your undergrad there. After that I would say coming from another large, research-focused university (UofT, Western, UofA) etc. would work the most in your favour. I hate to say it but some of the faculty are high in their ivory towers and would prefer it if your BSN was from a university rather than college/technical schools. But they certainly wouldn't deny you if you came in with good experience and a high GPA. BCIT has a great BSN program from what I hear
