When my visa was process in 2004 the visa fee then was $335. But later in 2005 the fee was increased to 380 therefore I have to pay the remaining balance during the interview.

Since five of us were included in the petition so we paid 380dlrs for each applicant.

You get your ds-230 forms when you receive your packet 3 and you need to send it back to NVC for your visa to be processed.

tks rep:) The ds230 forms part 1 and part 2 was sent to NVC for processing, but my question is why is it the consule is asking it again together with the appointment letter in your interview?

The consul did not ask me for that. It was the Filipino staff who check our appoinment letter who asked for that. They want to be sure that the ds-230 forms that I have submitted are current, meaning the informations on the forms are not more than a year old. during the interview, they will use the ds-230 forms as the basis for the interview.

I think expect the typical consul behind the window to be crabby and a bit hostile. That seems to be the common experience shared by all who have gone through thie interview. Do not take it personaly and just remain calm and confident. You wouldnt have gotten to that point if you didnt have the will and discipline. So keep your head up!

Nov. 1999 interview experience: got there early (was still dark, raining at that) usual long lines, went through the kababayan in the front windows (w/ the initial screening) who was actually more intimidating than the consular officer himself. The interview was surprisingly straight forward and fast, he just asked me how long I've been a nurse and where'd I think my sponsoring healthcare facility was located (which I found a wee bit funny because I had never been to the States). He signed a couple of documents and told me to proceed to the cashier's window. I didn't even had the chance to thank the man who little did he know just changed a couple of lives just by approving my EB-3. So as long as EVERYTHING is in order (supplemented by a lot of praying) the process is quick and painless.

Well I was interviewed by a 30 something white female and she was very accomodating and asked pertinent questions such as what hospital i am going to be assigned in the state, whether reciprocity was already filed, the job offer, cgfns and nclex license and whether i am currently working and for how long, she did asked me like my work area and even tested me on how would i react or do in case a person is having a heart attack since i am an ICU nurse. well i guess she was impressed because she issued visas for me and my family in just 5 working days.
