Managing stress

I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I am stressed to the max! It seems like every time I turn around there's something else that has to be done...right now!

Do you guys have any ideas of ways to help?

One thing at a time. Find out due dates and then determine how long each task will take to complete and prioritize accordingly. For example, writing papers is mind crippling for me and it is always a big to-do, regardless of how long the paper must be. Since I am aware of how writing affects me, I work around it. I start on all my other projects (including those NOW projects); get them out of the way so my brain can focus on writing. Next I start on smaller papers; this helps me get into the writing mode. Finally, I begin my largest paper, and generally, this paper is usually turned in near the last minute.

Everyone has different ways of juggling the stress of nursing school assignments, and really, you'll have to find what works best for you.

I get really stressed out with school also. I try the following:

- create schedules for the week

- network with other students - It helps with the stress level.

- workout

- get help when I need it

- study the best I can with the time I have, and just drop the rest

Hope this helps. The best I can figure is that we have more things to do then there is time so I just do what I can with

what I have, and have to learn that everything cannot be done.

Thanks everyone! Next week is Spring Break so hopefully I'll be able to get caught up on everything.

Alchohol in moderation 3 to 4 times per week. This protocol works for me.

I have have been having the same problem! Not so much this semester, but last semester was by far the most stressful semester of school I have gone through. It was the first official semester of the BSN program. I spent hours upon hours studying and doing homework, pulled a couple all nighters before clinical, and had no social life what so ever. I found that dealt with my stress in the worst possible ways by binge eating and giving up working out. I kept myself organized by making myself a todo list everyday of what I had to study and what was due that week. I also kept a dry erase calender on the fridge with all the due dates and tests I had for the month. I think working out or doing some kind of activity you enjoy will help with your stress. I was wrong by stopping my workout routine because it just caused me more stress.
