My manager point blank said that until I've worked two years I can forget getting a letter of rec. Anybody else experienced this? Should I just not apply to schools who ask specifically for the unit director or apply any way and use other letter of recs?Your thoughts are of course appreciated.
I would definitely look for another job. By the way, I got my references from my school teachers! I called Oakland and explained that I am just a new employee and I wouldn't get any letters period! They said it's OK to go back to the nursing school and get recommendations. I personally liked this attitude. :)

Yep, that's the impression i have from them. I will have my charge nurses write them for me as well as a professor. Maybe we will be classmates! If so, can i borrow your notes? Just kidding, i don't want to jinx us...
