Making the Most of Textbooks

Published

(I cannot take full credit for this little gem. I read it somewhere. It's still fantastic and I recommend it to my nursing students.) When you're assigned a chapter to read in the textbook don't read the whole thing. Go to the END of the chapter and read the summary Key Points. Then go to the review exercises and test yourself. If there are areas where you don't do well go back and read that specific portion of the chapter in greater depth. This will save you TONS of time and help with retention

Thanks so much ! This is a great tip

Thanks for that tip as well. An instructor of mine early in the nursing program have mentioned the END of the Chapter summary for the Key Points.
