I am looking at Macon State's schedule for the upcoming semesters and I've noticed that the classes are showing that they meet once or twice a week. Is this accurate? Are there other times scheduled for clinicals? Any graduates of this program or current students please respond.

Classes meet once a week and clinical's are twice a week. you have a clinical day for each course except in your last semester in the Trends & Issues class.
Thank you. This info helps a lot.:wink2:
You are very welcome. Are you thinking about applying to the program?
I was but I live in Lithonia now, but if I can get in anywhere I may be willing to commute.
In my class now (final semester) we have 3 students from the Atlanta area. We started off with 10 students but for various reasons are no longer in the program. I suggest you apply to as many schools as you can; that way you can have options to choose from; whether it be in relation to proximity to your home or scholarship offers, etc. There is a lady in my class now who lives in Midtown that applied to every school that was within a 2 hour drive from her house; she chose MSC because it was the closest school to her home that she was accepted to. I'm not saying that you need to or that you should do something like that because it can be expensive but at least apply to several so that you have more options to choose from. Good luck!
That is definitely what I plan to do. I do not want to put all of my eggs in one basket and then end up sad when I don't get into the school of my choice. Where do you all complete your clinicals?
Fundamentals/Med-Surg clinicals are at Medical Center of Central GA,Coliseum, Coliseum Northside, Houston County Hospital. For alternative experiences whether it be OB, peds, psych, etc there are clinics or other places (it just depends on what the professor says...it can vary each semester). IDK if you know or not but this fall MSC is going to have its 1st BSN class; they will continue with the ASN, and RN-BSN also. Just thought I would let you know. I was told by a peds teacher last semester that students can apply to both the ASN and BSN; so if he/she doesn't get in on they might get accepted to the other.
Thanks! This info helps so much.
