1.know what a reise is and under what circumstances it is necessary

are you in california? are you referring to the california law of the right of an involuntary committed mental health patient under the lanterman-petris-short act to refuse to be medicated and when the facility can medicate them for their own good?

2.what is considered contrivent, what kind of items

contrivent, a form of the word contrive, would mean "a invented, design, fabricated, schemed or make a way to deal with a problem". just guessing here, but are they referring to pretend or imaginary play items used by patients to solve problems? or, people insisting on treating objects as something they are not?

3.some indicators of dangers when accessing for potential violence.

the following behaviors are warning signs of impending violence:

  • becoming loud or starting to shout, verbal abuse and profanity, becomes argumentative

  • either avoids eye contact or exhibits intense eye contact

  • clenching of the teeth and hands

  • agitation

  • hyperactivity, restlessness, pacing

  • increased anxiety and tension, clenched jaw or fist, rigid posture, tense facial expression

  • may become stone silent

  • alcohol or drug intoxication

  • carries an object that could be used as a weapon

  • the following situations can set off the person to a violent episode:

    • overcrowding

    • taking away privileges

    • staff inexperienced at limit setting

    • someone provokes the patient

[*]there is a history of violence

4.patients' right that can be denied of good cause

when they interfere with the health, safety and/or life of the patient

5.know some of the criteria for successful communication

weblinks to sites on therapeutic communication principles are listed on post #38 of this sticky thread:

6. what elements contribute to safety for clients and staff. kind of things that help to create a safe environment.

this sounds like something that would be found in a textbook. some i found are:

  • for the staff member's safety

    • stay at least an arm's length away from the patient

    • leave door to room open

    • make sure other staff members are nearby

    • never turn your back on an angry client

    • have a quick exit available to you

    • set limits

    [*]restraints

    [*]medications

7. qualities that enable the nursing to practice using one self in an artful manner

this sounds like something that would be found in a textbook.

8. know what the undeniable patients' rights are

this sounds like something that would be found in a textbook.

This is the Nursing Student Assistance Forum.

"This forum was opened for nursing students to use to ask nurses questions regarding assignments including interviews. Feel free to post your requests here. Enjoy!".

We help students with their homework here. We encourage learning. If you have a problem with that, please do not respond to the thread. Negativity and "eating of the young" is not appreciated here.

Since you found the answer to #1 in 10 seconds it would have been nice for you to post it so all members could see the answer. It took me a lot longer to find anything about about it after looking in several books as well as on the Internet which makes me suspicious that you even found anything at all.

Daytonite thank you. is there anyway i can repay you!
