Hello, I was wondering if i would be allowed to take the LVN TO RN program if i got my LVN lic by challenging the board. THIS means that i did not attend school to become an LVN but i had similar military training and was able to obtaing a lic here in california. please advice.

Just in case, I would call the California Board of Registered Nursing to make sure that you'd be eligible to take an LVN-to-RN program in that particular circumstance. I wish you the best of luck!

You should be able to. There is a student in my class that challenged the boards, and is now trying to get her RN. But I would check with the school you plan to attend as well as the BRN.

Good Luck

I don't see why not! I challenged the boards as well (former military here too) and will be applying to an ADN program in February. As long as you've completed the necessary classwork (prereq's) and have a current/clear license it shouldn't be an issue.

That said, if you hear otherwise, would you mind letting me know? :lol2:
