I will be graduating from this program in 2 weeks. For the most part I have been very pleased. I have had to do a lot of driving, but I live 45 minutes from Gainesville anyway so I was already planning on that. The instructors are good, and they want to make sure that you know everything you need. Some instructors are more structured than others. There's a lot of flying by the seat of your pants. Keep that in mind and you should be OK. They stress flexibility. Which honestly you've got to be flexible as a nurse, so why not start in nursing school. They're having a lot of trouble with clinical sites because most of the acute care settings around Denton don't want LVN's. You're right that most students on the waiting list get in. I think in my class, all of those on the waiting list got in. There are a lot of advantages about starting in January. It's just the Gainesville class, so you don't have to coordinate with all the other campus. Good luck, and if there's anything else you need to know, just ask!! Congrats and good luck!!
If you've already taken your A&P then you won't have to go on Friday. For the most part, yes it is from 8 - 4 M - Th until you start clinicals, then you'll have clinicals on Tueday and Wednesday. Starting in the Summer we started getting out at noon, on Med/Surg and Pharm days. Then in Fall, we would get out at noon on Med/Surg and OB/Pedi days. The days that you're there all day they're real good at giving you a long lunch. Take that time to work on your drug cards and study.

Hi I am currently on the waiting list for the Lvn program at Nctc, Gainsville,Tx. We have orientation on Thurs. Dec. 4th, and I have been told that almost everyone on the waiting list usually gets into the program. So I am very excited to go to oreintation to see if I get accepted. Has anyone ever been in the Lvn program at NCTC? What can I expect?
