Hello,
I am an LVN for five years now and want to get my NP . West coast seems like the best option for me to get there. LVN to BSN than NP.
My dilemma is... I have 6 children and need to continue working and am wondering if anyone knows if I can or if they have continued to work and juggle the LVN TO BSN. If there are other routes I am interested also but I haven't found many bridge programs that won't require me to do all the prerequisites first.
Thanks for any help!!

Personally, I think all these private, for-profit schools (West Coast, Keiser, Chamberlain, Phoenix) are just a big scam. They charge you exorbitant prices for a sub-par nursing program. Hospitals in my area don't hire grads from those programs if they can help it. I would avoid this school.

These for profit schools often prey on people who are in your shoes....who have to keep working to support their families while trying to advance their careers. You would do well to take it once step at a time. One does not become an NP overnight. I would enroll at your local community college that had a bridge program to get your RN first and then work on your BSN. Slow and steady wins the race here, vs false and expensive promises from the for profit schools.

Stay away from for profit friend!! Enroll at your local CC, take one class at time. Are your children older or younger? That makes a big difference too.
