LS3

Well, I'm just about at the point where I'm thinking about testing. Today I just registered for the exam and purchased the practice exams. I plan on taking Form A tomorrow to see how I'm doing. I just can't keep reading through and studying my notes...I need to take the next step and actually take EC's practice exam. Along with studying my notes I also have taken the practice quizzes from the book's website. I have done progressively better on those...repitition is everything I feel. Ok, so enough rambling for me...does anyone have any advice on this exam? I am so excited to finally be at this point and just hope that I am successful when I do take this last theory exam.

Neuro, neuro and more neuro! I found this exam to be very detailed and assessment oriented. Lots of medications and lots of pediatric considerations. I used primarily Saunders and the textbook to study... I really think Saunders put it all together for me though.

Congrats on being almost done! You will do great :-)

Thanks for the quick response....did you take the practice exams? If so, do you think those helped? I did all the required reading and mades notes from the free exam content guide and also did practice quizzes from the book's website, like I said before. Doing that has worked for me in the past...so I really don't want to change my routine, ya know?

I can't offer info on the LS3 exam, as I am working non-stop on LS2, but I just waned to wish you well and say way to go for making it to this final round!! I am becoming a little more wound up with each exam, but I am actually doing better with each one too so I think I am putting my energy to good use. Have you been to the EPN LS3 board? Lots of people tesing & some good info. I think I followed you up on a FCCA post too. What is the book website that everyone talks about? Smetzer? Does anyone have a link?

Congrats again on your progress!! Keep us posted, even on the practice exams!!

http://thepoint.lww.com/ is the website, you just have to join it, and use the code from the smeltzer book if I'm remembering correctly. I have been to the EPN board and it is very helpful, especially when people make positive posts. Thanks for the congrats! Good luck to you!

I always do the practice exams, I definately think they are really helpful, worth every penny :-)

So I just took the first practice exam and I received a 60% on it. THis is better then I normally do on form A. So I'm a little excited. Out of all the sections I scored the poorest on neuro, so I know I need to focus on this a little more.

Good job!! Neuro will not be my favorite...hoping for a decent amt of peri, intra & post-op in LS3!!

Thanks...unfortunately there wasn't too much of that on this practice exam...
