LPN vs RN

Hi, all. I am a fairly new nursing student (first year, second semester of a 2-year ADN program). I would love to get some opinions as to whether you think it's a good idea to test for my LPN license at the end of this semester, or is it a waste of time and money if I'm going on to get my RN license anyway? I appreciate any opinions, insight, etc. Thank you. :)

First off you should find out if you will even be eligible to take the NCLEX-PN exam after one year of RN school. There aren't many states that I'm aware of that allow this anymore.

Secondly if you plan on trying to get a job for 1 year as a LPN if you are eligible then take the exam.

If you don't then there really isn't any point in spending the money and time to take the exam.

Yes, we are eligible after one year. I am not sure about getting a job yet. I want to, but I spend so much time studying that I think my grades might suffer. And if I do try to work, I'd probably just want to be a nurse tech.
