lpn to rn

I am thinking about getting my RN. Has anyone did the College network program? Any ideas on where to go online for classes. THANKS

I looked into it, but opted for an on campus program, way 'easier' and cheaper. My suggestion to you is the search this site good and well, prior to signing any commitments with the college network. That is part of what made me decide against it a lot of bad reports. Once you sign a contract looks like you have to move heaven and Earth to get out of it and most are unsuccessful.

The sales guy I met with was nice, but a bit pushy. They are not a school, the college network is basically a printing company that makes study guide books that are supposed to help you pass a test based program based in New York State.

Also be sure to check with the state board of nursing in your state, because some state will not grant you licensure if you go through the college network. Where I live, they will give you license only by endorsement. So I would have to work in another state and obtain about a year of experience before they would consider my eligible for work in the state I live. California is probably the strictest; They have banned all new grad after a certain date, that is like 5+ years ago, from ever getting licensure in the state of CA, unless they go back and do a traditional bridge. Definitely check out experience of those who did it, by searching this site.

Run, don't walk, away from the College Network. It's not a college at all. They just give you info to study for testing out of courses with Excelsior College. It adds much $$$ that are unnecessary.

I agree w/ beck. if you have ANY pre-requisites...do them at a community college. them if you are looking at lpn to rn (as degree), ...distance learning...go w excelsior. ...or.......if you are looking at bsn...again, locally w a community college for pre-req's, then excelsior or ISU (indiana state),....actually now, I think there are a few more choices...google.
