anyone heard anything about a proposal to give competent LPN's with 15 years experience their "RN" supposedly to help with the nursing shortage in Georgia? As I understand it, it would only be good in Georgia of course.

I see no problem with it but I certainly hope it would require passing the NCLEX-RN.
I think they intend for you not to have to repeat the clinicals or fundamentals and actually take a few classess and yes you will havw to pass the NCLEX RN

I live in Ga and haven't heard of this. There certainly is a shortage. Right now I am going to school in the transition program.
right now it's a proposal so it's not anything that can be done right now. if i hear anything else, i'll post it.
Please let me know if you hear anything else on this. Has this proposal been brought before the GA Board of Nursing?
I am working on a transition program right now, but it is hard to work full time and go to college at night too. Coming up fairly soon, I don't know how I will go to school in the day Mon-Fri and work full time too, but I have to financially and for insurance for me and my child.
