Lpn Program Not Accredited

What exactly does it mean if the community college's LPN Program isn't accredited?

Don't quote me on this but it depends on what accrediation that they don't have. Some accrediation allow you to be fully recognized as a "true" and you will be able to practice as one. Others will allow you to sit for the nclex exam. It ultimately means whether other establishments will accept you to practice there or accept your credits to pursue further education. You should do your research on them and ask questions before you apply for nothing.

Contact your state nursing board to find out exactly what this means to you and your future. Don't get the story from the school - all they have to sell is tuition. Don't waste your time or money there if you cannot get a license. Also, you might want to be an RN someday - will you have to start from scratch or will the RN schools in your state allow you to bridge to their program? Ask your Board.

It depends on the group that does the accreditation. For example, Maric College may be accredited by one group, but because they are not accredited by WASC, schools like Cal State University San Marcos won't except their credits for transfer. That means even if you complete the associates program at Maric College, you wouldn't be able to use those credits toward a bachelors somewhere else.
