LPN Practice Issues

I have recently moved to Maryland and am in the process of transferring my LVN license to MD from CA. (I have my temp, but not my permanent yet) I've been scouring jobs for about two months now with no luck. I have 2-3 years prior experience at working at a hospital, though out here it seems most LPN positions are in Home care or SNFs(which I am not oppose to).

I am in desperate need of a job to support my family (I'm sure some of you are in the same boat):crying2: So my question is this: Can we LPNs take jobs as CNAs, Med Techs, or Plebotomists? I have my IV therapy and blood withdrawal cert through CA and I am not sure if that transfers automatically with my LPN license to MD. I've been trying to contact MBON with this questions but no one is returing my e-mails and I only get voicemails while calling (though I plan to obviouly keep plugging away at that hopefully some will return my attemps soon)

So in the mean time if anyone out there has any answers or knows of places in need of LPN's the info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much!

As far as I know, once you are an LPN or RN you can't work below your scope in the state of MD.

Are you close to DC? I know of a couple of hospitals there that hire LPN's.

I'm in East Baltimore Co, that a little further then I'd want to go but I'll try anything at this point. >_
