Low GPA help

It depends on the school. Some schools specifically look at your science courses, and others look at the overall GPA. The school I transferred to was Bloomfield College in NJ, and they looked at the overall GPA. The requirement is 2.5. I did a few easy classes at CC because my science courses were crap. I got it up to a 3.0 just for the scholarship.

And be mindful of the fact that there are a great deal of colleges who only look at your nursing courses. There are a number of LPN classes that a college doesn't accept.

I would make an appointment with an academic advisor of the college you hope to attend. See what is transferable and what is not.

You may find that you have to take all general education courses, or some may allow you to test out of some. But you will not know until you ask.

Sometimes LPN-RN is a bridge program. Which takes into account a lot of different things.

I didn't retake the science courses because my units would have been less than what I needed. I took some of the other courses that were able to transfer from CC to Bloomfield College.

I recommend you take some classes to get your GPA up. You may have to retake certain classes if the RN program requires a certain grade for them. Otherwise take some of the general education classes required for the RN program to raise your GPA, to be honest a lot of programs now require you to get a majority of the general ed classes done before they will matriculate you into the nursing program. Oh okay, I have most of my transferable courses done, I just have a few biology and chemistry classes to do. I want to retake my transferable courses so that it can bring my overall GPA up to where I need it to be.

That's what I've heard, that most nursing programs look at the science courses, but my overall GPA isn't high enough to apply into the programs. I want to retake some classes in order to bring my overall GPA up. Thank you!

If you have a C in any science or math class, You should absolutely retake the class so the new, higher (presumably) grade would replace the older, lower grade.
