lost.....

Well, it is truth and consequences time...I have to cancel a contract that I never even got started on due to lack of funds for travel, licensure, etc...how bad is it going to be for me?? I have no job, no money, and am at my wits end with my nursing career in general at this point. 9 years experience down the drain.

If the agency knows about this assignment because either you or the hospital told them your were offered it, your best course is just to go through with it with them. The worst case scenario is you try to go through another agency and this agency informs the hospital you were first submitted by them so they own you, now the hospital (who of course doesn't want to get involved with an inter-agency fight about a commodity traveler) says that they will not hire you through any agency.

The hospital doesn't care only in principle, when it comes to a fight, you have little value to them.

That scenario also occurs when two different agencies submit you to the same hospital. Which is a good reason to not allow agencies to submit you to any assignment, you need some control because you can lose out altogether.
