Losing It at Work

I was at work yesterday morning, when a woman, who works in another department next to mine was heard to shout: "I ain't crazy!" Moments later she was running down the hallway, still mumbling and shouting about Jesus and not being crazy. Her supervisor came out a few minutes later, obviously embarassed by her employee's outburst and apologized to everyone.

It's obvious that the stress level finally made her snap, and she'll probably wind up being fired for it. I hope I am LONG gone from that place, before that ever happens to me. :o

Yes, it is always good to listen to your own inner signs that you are getting too stressed and do whatever you can to lessen the stress immediately before you reach the point of losing control. People show "losing control" in different ways. For some it is uncontrollable crying. For others it is problems thinking, concentrating, etc. Some have outbursts and some have religious outbursts as you witnessed.

God bless her and help her get better.

I hope someone reaches out to her and offers her some help..isn't that what our EAP's are there for? But you are right...she made a scene and snapped under the pressure so she will likely be run off if she's in an employment at will state.

So little true compassion in healthcare today for each other...so little support. Sad.
