Looking for a great NP program/school

Geographic location? Willing to travel some or move?

Having to find your own preceptors automatically degrades the greatness of a program IMO

Geographic location in which you are willing to travel? Online only vs hybrid? Is program rigor/excellence more of a priority or is convience (geography/online)? Are you looking for part-time or full-time school? Are you looking for a school that arranges your clinical placements or one that just hands you a list of potential preceptors? Cost constraints?

Hi NICUmiiki, Im from AZ, for now we are staying in AZ. If I could finish the program not moving anywhere else will be a dream for me and the family. I'm also considering Emergency NP as well (any idea?). There's so much to know about these things and I believe getting some input from people who are already in the program or done with the program will help. Let me know. Thanks.

Hi verene - Im in AZ, I am willing to travel for clinicals. I'm about 2 hours away from Vegas and about 3-4 hours away from Phoenix. I would love to do online only if I can but if I'm needed to visit school 2x/month it's possibly doable. Ofcourse, I would love to attend a school/program that is excellent in providing their students learning and experience. I would love to finish school sooner too with lesser costs. Let me know what you have in mind. Thanks.

I am not from the SW and am not familiar with AZ programs. In terms of cost/quality public universities are usually a good place to start for more affordable but decent quality programs, and may offer hybrid or online options.

Hello. I am an NP student. I don't have specific advice, but do strongly suggest you try to find a program that will provide you with clinical placements/preceptors. This would likely be a brick and mortar opposed to an online school. However, I attend a brick and mortar program and they do not provide clinical sites, so be sure to check with each school. It is a nightmare trying to find preceptors and I can't believe it is actually done this way.
