I went to Uniondale High--> you can look into schools in queens also without much of a problem commuting. In LI: BOCES has the program. I went to the NY Medical Training School in Flushing for my Medical Assistant certification about 5 years ago and then went back earlier this year to do the CNA course. The professors are very good and have been there for a long time. The prices and reasonable and they have payment plans. Go to www.nymedtraining.com if you'd like to learn more. They have a weekend and weekday programs. Im not 100% sure, but I think that the Allen School on Jamiaca Ave. offers it also, but I personally am not a fan of that school. My mother used to teach the LPN course and I have a friend that got her CMA cert there while I was at NY Med. I didnt like the stories that I heard. I know of quite a few in Manhattan (especially where I did my Dialysis Tech course), but I dont want to list them without knowing if you are willing to travel there.
Winthrop Hospital (it doesnt get any closer to home) and Glen Cove Hospital offer courses also. If I hear of anymore, I will post them.
