Hello TarynRichards. Welcome to allnurses.com, the biggest and busiest social network for nurses on the Web. If our members can't advise you, no one can. We've got a lot of very good resources amongst our membership. I can't answer specifically to your exact issue, but it sounds to me like you've really done a lot to make yourself attractive to the admissions panel. I was in somewhat of a similar situation when I applied to nursing school back in the very early 1990s and had roadblocks thrown up in front of me every time, so I really never thought I'd get in, never mind be advising others 20+ years later. If it's meant to be, you've done a TON to make sure it is. Best wishes!

Hello!
I am currently enrolled at Angelina College. I am starting to feel a little discouraged about being accepted into a nursing program once I apply. I am not an A student. I know Lone Star requires you to take English 1301, Psychology 1301, and Anatomy and Physiology I in order to be able to apply. I have taken all three. I made a B in English and a C in the Psych and A&P. Not my finest...
I know with just completing those courses, there would be no way I would ever get accepted! However, I have taken other courses and plan to take more before applying. I have already taken Speech 1318 (made an A), Arts 1301 (made an A), Life Span (made an A), and I am currently enrolled in A&P II. I plan to register for Microbiology and Sociology in the summer. I am already CPR certified and I have already begun studying for the Hesi Test.
With that being said, should I be hopeful about getting accepted into a nursing program? I am not confident in retaking any course so that is no option for me. So, other than that, is there any other advice you can offer that may boost my chances?
