Loewenberg Fall 2015

Hey all! I was hoping to start a thread for those of us who have applied to the Loewenberg School of Nursing for the fall 2015 semester. I am a 26 year old mother to an awesome little dude. I have a degree from U of M in professional studies, but nursing school has always been my dream. My GPA isn't super great. It's a 3.15. I slacked off freshman year. I'm still hoping I'm competitive enough to get in! We shall see!

Yeah I haven't used the study manual didn't have tone, used online questions though. This is the only thing I'm missing as I have a 3.7 gpa. I'm going to study study study..and pray I pass. :)

You're as good as in with that gpa. Jealous!

Aw thanks brittany I sure hope so. I'm sure we'll all get accepted.

Yes, I took the TEAS 1/10 and thankfully I passed!! I have completed all pre-req requirements as well. How do you know if you completed the "early admission" application? I completed my application on the 6th but I didn't know there were different apps

Well, I hope we all receive great news in the next month or so!!

I reviewed the ATI material and watched supplemental videos on Khan Academy and Crash Course. I have not had a science in quite some time- and I did just fine! It was difficult from the perspective of someone who hasn't had A&P, NUTR, or CHEM in a few years (if ever). However, it is totally manageable (I scored advanced). You will do great! Good luck!

I am a little nervous because of past mistakes I made eight years ago that REALLY lowered my college GPA (like not ever going to class-or dropping). I FINALLY, after 4 semesters of straight A's, have brought my GPA up to a 3.0 from a one point something (sad- I know). I think the cut off the last few semesters has been 3.1!

You and I both. I am 25, and totally slacked off Freshman year. I finally got my GPA back up to a 3.0, but I doubt it will be enough ( I wish they would calculate it after this semester). I also have a little man in my life- he just turned three months old. Good luck!

Congratulations on your hard work!! Have you applied to the program yet?

I received an e-mail 01/22 thanking me for my interest in the program and that they would review my application once they get my TEAS score (which was sent 01/24). Except the email said I had applied for "Spring 2015"?!

Did anyone else get the same message? My application was for Fall 2015.

FutureNP, I don't think there is a different application for early acceptance.

My understanding is that if you meet all the requirements they will consider accepting you before the 02/15 deadline.

That might be wishful thinking but I hope that's the case!

I'm in the same boat. I made a lot of mistakes when I was younger and it was really hard to bring my gpa up. :( Hopefully it's good enough!!
